General Conditions of Nationality and Mobility and Eligibility Criteria

Researchers are normally required to undertake trans-national mobility (i.e. move from one country to another) when taking up their appointment. Three general rules apply to the appointment of researchers in a network:

  • Researchers can be nationals of any country other than the country of the premises of the host organisation where they will carry out their project; however nationals of countries outside the EU and Associated States can only be recruited by hosts that are located in Member States or Associated States.
  • Researchers must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of the host for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to their recruitment. This rule does not apply in cases where a researcher is subsequently appointed in another node of the same network within the same country.
  • At the time of appointment, Experienced Researcher (ER) applicants should have no more than 5 years experience (FTE) after graduation.

Experienced Researcher Vacancy at Deimos Space SL

  • Estimated initial data contract: August-2013
  • Maximum duration of the contract: 24 months
  • Research topics:
    1. Trajectory Design and Control Objective: To study models that can be used to design energy-efficient spacecraft trajectories
    2. Asteroid Missions (NEO  mitigation techniques) Objective: Investigate innovative and efficient solutions from an energy point of view to transfer and inject a spacecraft into an orbit about an asteroid together with maintenance strategies during the orbiting phase
    3. Transfer, Deployment and Proximity Manoeuvers for Multiple Spacecraft Objective: To develop and implement multiple-spacecraft algorithms in free space and in the vicinity of the Earth.

All research topics can be broken into the following topics:

·  Trajectory design and optimisation

·   Trajectory control and orbit manoeuvres

·   Guidance for spacecraft rendezvous and close proximity operations

·   Navigation for rendezvous and close proximity operations

·   Flight dynamics

·   Relative orbital dynamics
