The Institut d’Estudis Espacials de Catalunya offers a temporary contract to work on the Filter Wheel Assembly (FWA) of the Near Infrared Spectrophotometer (NISP) of the Euclid mission. The observational cosmology group of the Institut d’Estudis Espacials de Catalunya (ICE, IEEC-CSIC) is involved in the European Space Agency Euclid mission. Amongst other commitments to the mission, it shares the responsibility for the delivery of the FWA. Therefore, the group participates in the design, construction, assembly, integration and testing of the FWA. Currently, we are in the process of assembling, integrating and testing the qualifying and flight models. We are looking for a person with to help in this effort.
The position is a temporary part-time contract and expected to be filled as soon as possible. The position will be held at the Institut de Ciències de l’Espai, IEEC-CSIC, located at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona Campus in Cerdanyola del Vallès. The salary is negotiable. The position will be until the end of December 2017.
We are looking for strong, motivated candidates. A BSc degree level (grau) in Engineering is required. Good knowledge of English is also mandatory. Good programming skills are expected and knowledge of python is also necessary.
