Third Circular FIRST CARINA WORKSHOP on "PERSPECTIVES IN EUROPEAN NUCLEAR ASTROPHYSICS" Parador d'Aiguablava (Girona), Spain 8-10 June, 2005 Dear participants, In this Third (Final) Circular, you will find updates on accomodation at the Parador, transportation to and from the Parador, as well as on the scientific organization of the Workshop. We encourage all participants to visit the Workshop's web page for additional details and updates: http://www.ieec.fcr.es/carina/carina.html HOW TO REACH THE PARADOR D'AIGUABLAVA ______________________________________ The Parador d'Aiguablava, where the First CARINA workshop will take place, is located at a distance of 146 km from Barcelona (46 km from Girona). * FROM BARCELONA'S AIRPORT "EL PRAT": those traveling by plane to Barcelona can benefit from a shuttle bus arranged by the Organization. The bus will depart from "Parking Olimpic", located between Airport TERMINALS A & B, sharply at 6 PM on tuesday june 7th. The bus can only wait for 10 minutes at this parking lot so, please, be there on time [Look for a "CARINA Workshop" advertisement at the front window of the bus. The bus company is "Julia"]. * FROM BARCELONA DOWNTOWN AREA: after picking up interested participants at the Airport, the shuttle bus will make a second stop in Barcelona. The meeting point will be Placa Catalunya, the neuralgic City center, with bus and train connections to and from the Airport. The bus will make a short stop at this downtown area at about 6.30 PM (depending on traffic conditions). The exact meeting point scheduled is right in front of the "Hard Rock Cafe" in Placa Catalunya. We expect to reach the Parador d'Aiguablava at about 9 PM. A late "get-together" dinner has been arranged for all participants for that night. * FROM GIRONA's REGIONAL AIRPORT: a few low-fare companies fly also to Girona's Regional Airport (located at "Cassa de la Selva", 12 km away from the City of Girona and about 90 km north of Barcelona). The route to Aiguablava from Girona's Airport is not straightforward (except by Taxi or car). Accordingly, we are arranging taxi rides from and to Girona's Airport (the overall estimated cost is 75 euros + 7% taxes per ride). Interested participants are highly encourage to contact the Organizers at their earliest convenience. IMPORTANT: those participants having troubles with early/late flights (and hence, not taking the Organization Shuttle bus) are encouraged also to contact the Organizers to check for alternative transportation. Moreover, participants traveling with other means (rental car, for instance) may also contact the Organizers for specific information on how to reach Aiguablava. Moreover, information on "how to reach Aiguablava by car" (from the French border as well as from Barcelona) is available at the Meeting Web page. REGISTRATION ------------ A Registration Desk will be available for all participants near the Hotel's Main Desk. It will be open on tuesday's evening, from 9 to 9.30 PM and also on wednesday morning, from 8.30 to 9 AM. A fee of 150 euros will be requested to all participants of the workshop (for those sharing a double room with a participant, a reduced fee of 50 euros will be requested). The registration fee must be paid in cash at the registration desk. MEALS ----- Because of the isolated location of the Parador d'Aiguablava full board accomodation has been arranged for all participants and accompanying persons from tuesday june 7th dinner to friday june 10th lunch. This includes coffee breaks as well. Participants with special requests, such as vegetarian meals, should contact the Organizers as soon as possible. CARINA NETWORK MEETING PROGRAM ______________________________ Five one-hour REVIEW talks have been arranged to encourage vivid discussions and to provide a framework for the different Working Group meetings. These have been organized by the corresponding coordinators (see http://www.cyc.ucl.ac.be/CARINA/wg.html ), who arranged a number of short talks during the WG meetings. A summary of the different WG activities will be presented by the coordinators on friday, june 10.
