The person hired will join the IEEC-ICCUB Electronic Instrumentation group. The candidate will work in the development of different ASICs (application-specific integrated circuits) for the Cherenkov Telescope Array (CTA) project, space missions and other scientific instruments. IEEC-ICCUB searches for a highly motivated Electronic PhD with experience in Analog design and SiPM photomultiplier characterization.
The person selected will be hired for 1 year starting no later than June 2018. The working place will be based at the IEEC-ICCUB facilities (Technological Unit of the ICCUB at Parc Cientific de Barcelona). The tasks to perform are the following:
- Project coordination.
- Participate in future projects related to new ASICs developed by the group.
- Advice master and PhD students in their thesis.
- Engineer team developing new ASICs and the corresponding demonstration boards for CTA and particle detector projects.
- Usage of already designed ASICs for other space projects of interest for IEEC-ICCUB (i.e.; eAstrogam).
We search for highly motivated applicants that are doctors in Electronics with demonstrated experience on ASIC development and testing. The candidate must be available to travel several times per year and have a good level of English to communicate with international experts. Previous experience in collaborative international designs or projects will be valued.
