Space-based observations have transformed our understanding of Earth, its environment, the solar system, and the universe at large. In this context, nanosatellites (1-10 kg) are gaining momentum as an important means to address targeted science and private services and public research. The Institute of Space Science of Catalonia (IEEC), a CERCA Institute, has the main objective of this project is to develop a generic nanosat platform (6U, dimensions 10x20x30 cm) that can be adapted to different commercial and scientific uses. The industrialization and standardization of the manufacturing process is a must to reach the market in suitable conditions to offer the required quality and versatility. For this, we have identified the basic elements and subsystems that must be consolidated in terms of TRL. Those are: Mechanical structure, Electrical power system, Attitude Control, Thermal Control, Onboard Computer and data handling, and Communications. The competitive advantage of this project is the integration of the four main different subsystems into a customizable platform for CubeSats depending on the different payloads.
