Mechanical Engineer. Euclid mission

Description

The ICE, IEEC-CSIC, is seeking an experienced engineer to work in the production, test and delivery of the Qualification Model of the Filter Wheel Assembly of the NISP instrument of the Euclid mission.

Euclid is an ESA approved mission to study the nature of dark energy. For that purpose, ESA in collaboration with the Euclid Consortium is building a space satellite whose launch is currently scheduled for the end of 2020. Euclid carries on board two instruments a Visual imager (VIS) and a near infrared spectrograph and photometer (NISP).  Our group is responsible for the production, testing and delivery of the Filter Wheel Assembly (FWA) of the NISP Instrument.
So far, we have successfully passed the PDR and CDR reviews and delivered the STM model of the FWA. Next year, we are committed to produce, test and deliver the Qualification Model. For that purpose we are looking for an experienced engineer to join are team.

Job requirements

Mechanical engineer degree.

Experience with CAD, NASTRAN and Catia design and engineering tools
Good knowledge of English (written and spoken)
Experience with INVAR-to-fused silica glueing processes
Experience in design, test and validation procedures in space projects
Experience in writing and delivery of documentation with ECSS standards

Job conditions

We intend to hire the successful applicant as soon as possible.
The contract duration wil be until the end of 2017.
The job salary is negotiable.
