Space is no longer just a research object itself. The transversality of space combined with the digitalization of society is becoming the ideal means to pave the way for new methodologies and technologies to generate the multidisciplinary knowledge needed to address multiple current challenges in society.<\/em><\/p>\n

Applied developments and technologies, as well as space-related infrastructures, complement multidisciplinary solutions that impact other sectors of society, including all those related to climate change and climate resilience, mobility, health, farming, tourism, cultural heritage conservation, insurance and finance, among others.<\/p>\n

In addition, space is closely related to multiple emerging technologies such as the Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, drones and quantum technologies, among others.<\/p>\n

One of the main missions of the IEEC is to promote valorization and knowledge\u2019s transfer of the scientific-technological developments of its members, with the aim of promoting a greater impact and benefit for society.<\/strong> Through the IEEC, innovation and transfer activities are carried out linked to different areas of space research, with the ability to provide high added value to multiple sectors, the results of which have aroused interest in institutions around the world, including industrial, academic and government.<\/p>\n

The Institut is the reference organization to posing and solving new challenges at the border of knowledge<\/strong>, with a high impact on society and a high level of internationalization, thanks to its wide portfolio of products and services derived from excellent production in science and special instrumentation of its members and highly multidisciplinary teams, as well as interrelation with external research groups and with the ecosystem of innovation and transfer, facilitating its projection towards the market.<\/span><\/p>\n

The IEEC offers support to its members to request projects with transfer capacity, in addition to providing a follow-up of the projects granted during their execution.<\/em><\/span><\/h2>\n

The Institute protects the intellectual property rights and exploitation rights of members’ projects within any agreement made through the IEEC. The research carried out within the Institute has involved the granting of several patents within the Research Units.<\/span><\/p>\n

For these purposes, the Institute works together with the Knowledge transfer offices of the different<\/strong><\/span> institutions<\/strong> that make up the <\/span>Board of Trustees<\/span> for the valorisation and promotion of their technological exploitation. These support teams will continue to contribute and positively complement the IEEC\u2019s key knowledge about space technologies.<\/span><\/p>\n
