With the theme "Space for the Financial World", the event was held simultaneously in 10 European locations, Barcelona being one of them—with more than 40 students, on site and in virtual format. The local edition has been co-organised by the Institute of the Space Studies of Catalonia<\/a> (IEEC), the Knowledge lnnovation Market Foundation<\/a> (KlMbcn) and the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce<\/a>; with the collaboration of the EETAC, the Mediterranean Science and Technology Park<\/a> (PMT), and the Baix Llobregat Campus<\/a> of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya · BarcelonaTech · BarcelonaTech (UPC).<\/p>\n

The final presented projects responded to three challenges of the financial world to activate green and sustainable investment, to make innovative financial tools and technologies and to advance global financial intelligence, using data from Copernicus, Galileo and EGNOS.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The initiatives carried out by the participants were evaluated by an expert jury in which the participation of aerospace engineers Maria Casanovas,<\/strong> from the Knowledge Transfer Office of the IEEC, and Anna Ruiz<\/strong>, from the IEEC Department of Talent and Society; as well as the president of the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, Mònica Roca,<\/strong> the executive director of knowledge of the innovation market of the KIMbcn Foundation, Antoni Paz<\/strong>; the deputy director of the EETAC, Jordi Berenguer<\/strong>, and the aerospace consultant, Armengol Torres.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The first prize went to the FarmSat:Space project<\/strong>, focused on gas monitoring in macro-farms, and the second prize was won by the Gapfik<\/strong> proposal, an initiative to measure the environmental and social impact of companies in real time.<\/p>\n

The hackathon was also attended by Dafni Dimoudi<\/strong>, Market Development Innovation Officer of European Union Agency for the Space Programme<\/a> (EUSPA), who recognised "the great ideas collected during these days."<\/p>\n

In addition, Eurisy<\/a> has participated as an European expert entity supporting the core team.<\/p>\n
