'<\/span>Territorio Gravedad<\/em>' proposes a visit to the cosmos using gravity as the backbone element, the mysterious interaction that lies at its origin and in its current complex form.<\/span><\/p>\n

The series has the participation of Carlos Sopuerta, Miquel Nofrarias and Víctor Martín, researchers from the <\/span>Institute of Space Studies of Catalonia<\/u><\/a> (Institut d’Estudis Espacials de Catalunya<\/span> — <\/em>IEEC) at the <\/span>Institute of Space Sciences<\/u><\/a> (ICE-CSIC), and of Cristiano Germani, IEEC researcher at the <\/span>Institute of Cosmos Sciences<\/u><\/a> of the University of Barcelona (ICCUB). <\/span>
\nHow was the universe formed? Why do stars, galaxies, and black holes behave the way they do? What are gravitational waves? What makes our GPS work? These are just some of the questions addressed by '<\/span>Territorio Gravedad<\/em>', whose first season of 8 episodes, with IEEC participation in episode 2, can be seen on <\/span>RTVE play<\/u><\/a> (the first four episodes), on <\/span>Filmin<\/u><\/a> (full season) and on demand on <\/span>Vimeo<\/u><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Season 2, in which the contributions of the IEEC researchers appear in chapter 9, consists of 5 chapters (from 9 to 13) and will be released in the coming months.<\/span><\/p>\n

'<\/span>Territorio Gravedad<\/em>' is a series of scientific dissemination, endorsed by the CSIC and promoted by the Spanish Society of Gravitation and Relativity <\/span>(<\/u>Sociedad Española de Gravitación y Relatividad<\/u><\/a>,<\/em> SEGRE)<\/span>. It has the support and financing of the <\/span>Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology<\/u><\/a> <\/span>(<\/em>Fundación Española para la Ciencia y la Tecnología, <\/em>FECYT)<\/span> and the E2 IN2 business group, among more than 15 national and international scientific institutions. In addition, beyond the IEEC and the ICE-CSIC, the support of the <\/span>Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona<\/u><\/a> and the <\/span>Institute of Cosmos Sciences<\/u><\/a>  of the Universitat de Barcelona stands out.<\/span><\/p>\n

As part of the dissemination activities, two presentations of the first episode were held with a question and answer session with the filmmakers. The first of them was at the Royal Academy of Sciences and Arts of Barcelona<\/span> (<\/em>Reial Acadèmia de Ciències i Arts de Barcelona)<\/em>, on February 27 in the same room where, in 1927, Albert Einstein presented his theory of gravity; the following day the documentary was presented in the <\/span>Aula Magna<\/em> of the Faculties of Physics and Chemistry of the Universitat de Barcelona.<\/span><\/p>\n
