Last Monday, June 3rd, the <\/span>6th Forum of the <\/b>Institute of Space Studies of Catalonia<\/b><\/a> (IEEC) took place. The event, which annually brings together all the IEEC members and prominent personalities of the scientific and technological research ecosystem linked to Space, gathered 166 attendees this year. For the first time, the Forum took place in Castelldefels, which hosts the headquarters of the institute since April 2024.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Conference Room of the <\/span>Barcelona School of Agri-Food and Biosystems Engineering<\/span><\/a> (EEABB), located at the <\/span>Mediterranean Technology Park<\/span><\/a> (PMT) of the UPC’s Baix Llobregat Campus in Castelldefels (Barcelona), was the venue for a day full of top-level talks and presentations, with topics as diverse and interesting as <\/span>solar physics and space weather,<\/b> the <\/span>research in microgravity,<\/b> or IEEC’s current contributions to some of the most relevant <\/span>European Space Agency<\/span><\/a> (ESA) missions, such as <\/span>ARRAKIHS<\/span><\/a> or the <\/span>Einstein Probe<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

During the day, several activities were carried out, such as the scientific poster competition or a dynamic quiz, which helped to break the ice between the IEEC members and the guests, among whom were prominent personalities such as <\/span>Isabel P\u00e9rez Grande,<\/b> Director of Science, Technology and Innovation of the <\/span>Spanish Space Agency<\/span><\/a> (AEE), who also contributed with a talk.<\/span><\/p>\n
