The <\/span>Talent and Society programme<\/b> of the <\/span>NewSpace Strategy of Catalonia<\/span><\/a> promotes activities aimed at the recruitment, generation, and retention of all the talent that has capabilities for developing solutions in the NewSpace field.<\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span>International Space University<\/span><\/a> (ISU) organises the <\/span>Space Studies Program<\/span><\/a> (SSP), which offers an <\/span>8-week development experience during the summer months<\/b> for the final stages of higher education students. The main goal of the programme is to train the students to access the professional world in the field of space economy and space industry. <\/span>The 37th edition will take place <\/b>in <\/b>Seoul (South Korea)<\/b> from 30 June to 22 August 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n

The SSP receives the support of the <\/span>European Space Agency<\/span><\/a> (ESA), and it is an<\/span> intensive programme that provides courses in a wide range of space disciplines as well as hands-on education <\/b>through workshops and professional visits. During the programme, participants work on team projects to address current and future topics in the space sector.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the framework of the Talent and Society programme’s goals, <\/span>the Government of Catalonia and the <\/b>Institute of Space Studies of Catalonia<\/span><\/a> (IEEC \u2014 Institut d\u2019Estudis Espacials de Catalunya) <\/span>offer 3 scholarships<\/b> (\u2018NewSpace Catalonia Scholarships\u2019), additional to those offered by the ISU itself and the ESA, to attend the SSP.<\/span><\/p>\n

The amount for the NewSpace Catalonia Scholarships is <\/span>7,000 euros each<\/b>. The NewSpace Catalonia Scholarships are set at a flat rate in order to partially offset the costs associated with participation in the programme. Candidates will have to cover approximately 3,000 euros, travel expenses to the SSP headquarters and medical insurance. Hosting and meals during the whole programme are included in the tuition fee.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to the ISU eligibility requirements, candidates must meet the following <\/span>participation requirements in order to obtain the NewSpace Catalonia Scholarship<\/b>:<\/span><\/p>\n
