El consorci Euclid &eacute;s la major col&middot;laboraci&oacute; internacional d\u0092astr&ograve;noms, un equip integrat per experts de tot el m&oacute;n amb el repte de construir un sat&egrave;l&middot;lit capa&ccedil; de desentranyar de qu&egrave; est&agrave; compost l\u0092Univers. Aquest projecte, que forma part del programa de l\u0092ESA \u0093Cosmic Vision\u0094 i que pret&eacute;n construir i posar el sat&egrave;l&middot;lit en &ograve;rbita durant aquesta d&egrave;cada, comptar&agrave; amb la participaci&oacute; d\u0092un consorci espanyol integrat per desenes d\u0092investigadors i enginyers de diferents centres de recerca de Barcelona, Tenerife, Cartagena i Madrid.<\/p>\n<p>Amb aquesta declaraci&oacute; d\u0092intencions, l\u0092ESA ha fet un pas final en la selecci&oacute; d\u0092Euclid com a part del programa \u0093Cosmic Vision\u0094. En els propers anys, hi haur&agrave; un ex&egrave;rcit de cient&iacute;fics i enginyers treballant amb la finalitat de construir i col&middot;locar el sat&egrave;l&middot;lit en &ograve;rbita a finals d\u0092aquesta d&egrave;cada.<\/p>\n<p>Yannick Mellier, investigador principal del Consorci d\u0092Euclid, ha declarat estar molt satisfet: &ldquo;l\u0092ESA i el Consorci Euclid han treballat durant m&eacute;s de 5 anys per arribar fins aqu&iacute;, i ara hem estat oficialment adoptats per l\u0092ag&egrave;ncia per comen&ccedil;ar la construcci&oacute; d\u0092aquesta nova i emocionant missi&oacute; espacial\u0094. L\u0092ESA ha aprovat avui un Acord Multilateral (MLA) entre onze ag&egrave;ncies espacials europees, que financen el Consorci Euclid, per a la construcci&oacute; dels elements clau del sat&egrave;l&middot;lit, especialment els instruments d\u0092a-bord, el programari per a l\u0092an&agrave;lisi de les dades i la coordinaci&oacute; cient&iacute;fica del sat&egrave;l&middot;lit. A m&eacute;s a m&eacute;s, ha aprovat un acord de col&middot;laboraci&oacute; amb la NASA per a qu&egrave; tamb&eacute; participi a la missi&oacute;.<\/p>\n<p>Francisco Castander, membre espanyol de l\u0092equip cient&iacute;fic d\u0092Euclid de l\u0092ESA, comenta: \u0093Durant els &uacute;ltims anys el consorci d\u0092Euclid ha anat reunint a experts en astronomia, cosmologia, f&iacute;sica, disseny de sat&egrave;l&middot;lits i programari en l\u0092equip que treball en la definici&oacute; i millora de la missi&oacute;. Amb la decisi&oacute; d\u0092avui es dona llum verda per a qu&egrave; aquest gran equip faci realitat la missi&oacute; Euclid que revelar&agrave; els secrets de l\u0092energia fos de l\u0092univers\u0094. El Consorci Euclid &eacute;s la col&middot;laboraci&oacute; astron&ograve;mica m&eacute;s gran mai creada, que supera a l\u0092existent Planck de l\u0092ESA i a les missions de GAIA.<\/p>\n<p>La Missi&oacute;<\/p>\n<p>Euclid &eacute;s una missi&oacute; de l\u0092ESA dissenyada per a entendre l\u0092origen de l\u0092expansi&oacute; accelerada de l\u0092Univers, coneguda pels f&iacute;sics i astr&ograve;noms com \u0093energia fosca\u0094 i que constitueix m&eacute;s d\u0092un 70% del nostre univers actual. euclid observar&agrave; centenars de milions de gal&agrave;xies en una gran regi&oacute; del cel i monitorar&agrave; les senyals que deixen l\u0092energia i la mat&egrave;ria fosques i la gravetat sobre la geometria de l\u0092Univers i la hist&ograve;ria c&ograve;smica de formaci&oacute; d\u0092estructures. Mitjan&ccedil;ant la mesura de la distribuci&oacute; de gal&agrave;xies a l\u0092Univers i de les seves formes, els astr&ograve;noms podran dilucidar l\u0092origen d\u0092aquesta energia fosca i veure si la teoria de la relativitat general es v&agrave;lida encara per a descriure aquests fen&ograve;mens en escales m&eacute;s enll&agrave; dels mil milions d\u0092anys llum. Per poder fer aquestes observacions, el sat&egrave;l&middot;lit estar&agrave; equipat amb una c&agrave;mera en el visible (VIS) i un espectr&ograve;metre en l\u0092infraroig proper (NISP), que permetran generar un mapa global de l\u0092univers en 3D. Els instruments seran desenvolupats pel Consorci Europeu, constitu&iuml;t per m&eacute;s de 110 laboratoris, inclosos alguns espanyols, i 800 cient&iacute;fics d\u0092Europa, liderats per Yannic Mellier, De l\u0092Institute d\u0092Astrophysique de Paris (IAP).<\/p>\n<p>Participaci&oacute; d\u0092Espanya<\/p>\n<p>A m&eacute;s de l\u0092ESA,<br \/>\nCA;mso-fareast-language:ES&quot;&gt;els principals pa&iuml;sos que formen part del Consorci s&oacute;n Alemanya, &Agrave;ustria, Dinamarca, Espanya, Finl&agrave;ndia, Holanda, It&agrave;lia, Noruega, Regne Unit, Romania i Su&iuml;ssa, amb una contribuci&oacute; de laboratoris dels EUA.<\/p>\n<p>La unitat espanyola de col&middot;laboraci&oacute; en el projecte est&agrave; integrada per investigadors de l\u0092Institut de Ci&egrave;ncies de l\u0092Espai \u0096 ICE\/IEEC-CSIC (F. J. Castander), l\u0092Institut de F&iacute;sica d\u0092Altes Energies \u0096 IFAE (C. Padilla, R. Miquel), el Port d\u0092Informaci&oacute; Cient&iacute;fica \u0096 PIC (M. Delfino), el Centro de Investigaciones Energ&eacute;ticas Medioambientales y Tecnol&oacute;gicas \u0096 CIEMAT (E. S&aacute;nchez), l\u0092Instituto de F&iacute;sica Te&oacute;rica de la Universidad Aut&oacute;noma de Madrid \u0096 IFT-UAM (Juan Garcia-Bellido), la Universidad Polit&eacute;cnica de Cartagena \u0096 UPCT (R. Toledo, I. Villo), l\u0092Instituto de Astrof&iacute;sica de Canarias \u0096 IAC (R. Rebolo) i el Centro de Astrobiolog&iacute;a \u0096 CAB (M. R. Zapatero Osorio).<\/p>\n<p>L\u0092ICE\/IEEC-CSIC, l\u0092IFAE i el CIEMAT aportaran la roda de filtres de l\u0092instrument NISP. La construcci&oacute; d\u0092aquest subsistema es realitzar&agrave; al taller mec&agrave;nic de l\u0092IFAE i en col&middot;laboraci&oacute; amb la ind&uacute;stria espacial espanyola. A m&eacute;s a m&eacute;s, l\u0092ICE\/IEEC-CSIC, juntament amb el PIC, l\u0092IFAE i l\u0092IFT-UAM, realitzaran simulacions d\u0092alta resoluci&oacute; de l\u0092estructura de l\u0092Univers per a comparar-les despr&eacute;s amb les observacions i les dades que s\u0092esperen obtenir amb el sat&egrave;l&middot;lit. Al PIC s\u0092hi ubicar&agrave; un dels Centres de Dades Cient&iacute;fiques d\u0092Euclid.<\/p>\n<p>L\u0092origen de l\u0092expansi&oacute; accelerada de l\u0092Univers &eacute;s un dels reptes m&eacute;s fascinants de la cosmologia i la f&iacute;sica fonamental del segle XXI.
