_module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; link_font=&#8221;|700|||on||||&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.asensenova.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ASENSE NOVA, S.L.<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mwse.tech\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Microwave Sensors and Electronics S.L.<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are the companies selected in the latest <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ieec.cat\/en\/new-call-for-the-development-of-payloads-for-earth-observation-satellites\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">call for the development of payloads for Earth observation satellites<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which aims to strengthen the Catalan space technology ecosystem, fostering innovation and competitiveness in the development of payloads for small satellites (SmallSats), as well as facilitating their future commercialisation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This call is promoted by the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/politiquesdigitals.gencat.cat\/ca\/inici\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Government of Catalonia<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and coordinated by the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ieec.cat\/en\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Institute of Space Studies of Catalonia<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (IEEC), within the framework of the Catalonia Space 2030 Strategy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The winning proposals are outlined below.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=&#8221;4.16&#8243; link_font=&#8221;|700|||on||||&#8221; locked=&#8221;off&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The awarded company ASENSE will develop OTTER (\u2018<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Observaci\u00f3 T\u00e8rmica Terrestre &#8211; Espacial Remota<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2019 \/ Remote Earth-Space Thermal Observation), a multispectral thermal infrared (TIR) observation system with passive athermalisation, integrating optics, structure and detectors into a compact solution designed to operate on board small satellites. It will have applications in agriculture (soil thermal analysis and crop water use optimisation); forestry management (firefront monitoring and regeneration tracking); industry (thermal signature identification); urban infrastructure (heat island detection); and the maritime sector (tracking conditions favourable to harmful algal blooms).<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=&#8221;4.16&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;4_4&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.16&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_text module_class=&#8221;section-title&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.27.6&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; header_2_font=&#8221;|700|||||||&#8221; header_2_font_size=&#8221;25px&#8221; header_2_font_size_tablet=&#8221;23px&#8221; header_2_font_size_phone=&#8221;23px&#8221; header_2_font_size_last_edited=&#8221;on|phone&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h2>LaX\u2019n\u2019SAR project<\/h2>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.27.6&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; link_font=&#8221;|700|||on||||&#8221; locked=&#8221;off&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Meanwhile, Microwave Sensors and Electronics S.L. has been awarded the LaX\u2019n\u2019SAR project (L and X-band SAR for Earth observation). LaX\u2019n\u2019SAR will develop a system consisting of a Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) payload, which includes front-end electronics with dual-band X and L transmitters and receivers, as well as the control unit. The project will enable simultaneous measurements of the same area at different frequencies, providing benefits in monitoring changes in forest biomass or adverse weather events, such as floods or landslides, regardless of meteorological conditions and time of day.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=&#8221;4.27.6&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;4_4&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.27.6&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.27.6&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; hover_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; sticky_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243;]<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The call is framed within the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/esaphilabnet-spain.ieec.cat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ESA Phi-Lab Spain<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> programme, promoted by the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.esa.int\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">European Space Agency<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (ESA) with the support of the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.aee.gob.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Spanish Space Agency<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and the Government of Catalonia.
