global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.27.6&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; link_font=&#8221;|700|||on||||&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/esaphilabnet-spain.ieec.cat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Phi-Lab Spain<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> programme of the<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.esa.int\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">European Space Agency<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (ESA) aims to <\/span><b>drive innovation for the commercialisation of space technologies to enhance climate resilience.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The initiative is supported by the<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.aee.gob.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Spanish Space Agency<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (AEE) and the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/catalangovernment.eu\/catalangovernment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Government of Catalonia<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> through the Secretariat for Digital Policies in the framework of the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/politiquesdigitals.gencat.cat\/ca\/economia\/espai\/index.html#googtrans(ca%7Cen)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Catalonia Space 2030 Strategy<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ESA Phi-Lab Spain, located in Barcelona, is part of the ESA\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/access.esa.int\/about-access\/about-scale-up\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ScaleUp Programme<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and supports <\/span><b>innovative and disruptive projects focused on improving climate resilience<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> through its continuously open funding call, managed by the coordinating consortium, led by the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ieec.cat\/en\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Institute of Space Studies of Catalonia<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (IEEC).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>second cut-off date<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> was announced on October 28th, 2025, and remained open to companies, research organisations, and startups until February 24th, 2026. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=&#8221;4.16&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; link_font=&#8221;|700|||on||||&#8221; locked=&#8221;off&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Following the evaluation and selection process carried out by the Phi-Lab Spain\u2019s Evaluation Board, these are the <\/span><b>six projects selected<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in this second cut-off date<\/span><b>, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">which has assigned just over <\/span><b>\u20ac2 million<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>AETHER<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 Advanced air quality services for holistic urban management and resilience, led by Hydrometeorological Innovative Solutions S.L.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>GOSHAWK<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 Satellite-based Water Leak Detection for Climate Resilience, led by Kimedes Artificial Intelligence S.L.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>HYBRID-LINK MCX<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, led by Nemergent Solutions S.L.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>SHERPA<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 Shared High-efficiency resilience platform on-board AI, led by FENTISS<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>JUPITER<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 AI-Enhanced Satellite Monitoring of Climate-Driven Geohazards, led by GeoKinesia<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>ORBITA TETRA<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 LEO Satellite Channel for Resilient Critical Communications in Emergency Situations, led by AD Telecom S.L.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With these new projects, <\/span><b>the number of <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/esaphilabnet-spain.ieec.cat\/esa-funds-projects\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>ESA-funded projects<\/b><\/a><b> within the Phi-Lab Spain portfolio has grown to ten<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, following the four projects selected in the first cut-off date. This cloud platform empowers cities to comply with EU directives and proactively protect vulnerable populations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The project is led by <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hyds.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hydrometeorological Innovative Solutions S.L.<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in collaboration with <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/meteosim.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Meteosim S.L.<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.grasp-earth.com\/graspspain\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">GRASP SPAIN S.L.<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the Institute of Space Studies of Catalonia (IEEC) and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.santboi.cat\/portada\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ajuntament de Sant Boi de Llobregat<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>GOSHAWK \u2013 Satellite-based Water Leak Detection for Climate Resilience<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">GOSHAWK fuses multi-frequency satellite radar with physics-informed AI to detect hidden water leaks across urban networks. This approach delivers continuous, city-scale leak detection at low cost, helping utilities cut Non-Revenue Water and strengthen climate resilience.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The project is led by <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/kimedes.ai\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kimedes Artificial Intelligence S.L.<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in collaboration with the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cttc.cat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Centre Tecnol\u00f2gic de Telecomunicacions de Catalunya<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>HYBRID-LINK MCX<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">HYBRID-LINK MCX develops and validates a hybrid NTN\/TN connectivity solution for seamless communications during climate disaster operations by introducing new Mission Critical Services (MCX) capabilities, including a predictive soft-handover mechanism and managing communications with application-aware traffic prioritization.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The project is led by <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/nemergent-solutions.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nemergent Solutions S.L.<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in collaboration with <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vicomtech.org\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fundaci\u00f3n Vicomtech<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>SHERPA \u2013 Shared High-Efficiency Resilience Platform on-board AI<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SHERPA improves climate disaster monitoring by processing satellite imagery directly in space using on-board artificial intelligence. By developing a multi-tenant satellite platform, it makes advanced space-based prevention financially affordable and accessible for local institutions and public administrations, delivering critical early warnings to emergency teams in minutes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The project is led by <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fentiss.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">FENTISS<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in collaboration with <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/klepsydra.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Klepsydra<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, KPSR-CH and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bsc.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Barcelona Supercomputing Center<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>JUPITER \u2013 AI-Enhanced Satellite Monitoring of Climate-Driven Geohazards<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">JUPITER aims to develop AI-enhanced satellite services for climate-driven geohazard monitoring. By combining Sentinel-1 InSAR and AI models, the project will deliver three operational capabilities: continuous monitoring of active deformation areas and their impact areas; automatic classification and hazard mapping of ground deformation, and rapid detection of collapses and fast landslides for emergency response.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The project is led by <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/geokinesia.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">GeoKinesia<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in collaboration with the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cttc.cat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Centre Tecnol\u00f2gic de Telecomunicacions de Catalunya<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>ORBITA TETRA \u2013 LEO Satellite Channel for Resilient Critical Communications in Emergency Situations<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ORBITA TETRA keeps emergency teams connected when terrestrial communication networks go down, enabling existing radio TETRA terminals to communicate via satellite without needing to change the equipment.
