Odintsov, ICREA researcher at the Institute of Space Sciences (IEEC\/CSIC), receives the Amaldi Medal awarded by the Italian Society of General Relativity and Gravitation (SIGRAV).<\/p>\n

This prestigious award is given biennially to European academics for their significant and outstanding contributions in the field of gravitational physics. Prof. Odintsov recognition is the first awarded to a scientist of our country since 2004 Prof. Roger Penrose, recognised astrophysicist at the University of Oxford, received the first Amaldi Medal.<\/p>\n

The researcher has received the recognition for his work on the relationship between inflation of the universe, dark energy and modified gravity.<\/p>\n

The medal will be awarded during the SIGRAV congress, which will take place from 15 to 19 September in Alessandria (Italy).<\/p>\n
