by Jaime D. Perea Duarte de l&rsquo;Instituto d&rsquo;Astrof&iacute;sica de Andaluc&iacute;a.<\/p>\n<p>The course will take place at N06M classroom Physics Faculty of the University of Barcelona.<\/p>\n<p>Python has become the de facto standard programming language for scientific computing. In this brief course we will introduce first the basic concepts for programming in Python, and then continue with a detailed description of some of the most important software packages available, with particular emphasis on those commonly used by the astronomical community. We will work with real examples to illustrate their applications. It is mandatory that all attendants bring their own laptops and implement the Anaconda computer software listed below before the course begins.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Programme:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tuesday, Jan 31st.: Introduction to python, OO programming, standard library.
