Les mesures permetran determinar diverses propietats termodin&agrave;miques i de precipitaci&oacute; de l&rsquo;atmosfera terrestre a diferents al&ccedil;ades.<\/p>\n<p>PAZ<\/p>\n<p>El sat&egrave;l&middot;lit PAZ situat en el tanc de proves previ al seu llan&ccedil;ament el 17 de febrer per comprovar el seu bon funcionament.<\/p>\n<p>Un equip d&rsquo;investigadors de l&rsquo;Institut de Ci&egrave;ncies de l&rsquo;Espai, format per membres de Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cient&iacute;ficas (CSIC) i de l&rsquo;Institut d&rsquo;Estudis Espacials de Catalunya (IEEC) ha dissenyat i incorporat al sat&egrave;l&middot;lit espanyol per a l&rsquo;observaci&oacute; de la Terra (PAZ) instrumentaci&oacute; amb la finalitat de detectar i quantificar les precipitacions de car&agrave;cter intens que es provoquen a la nostra atmosfera. Les mesures que s&rsquo;obtinguin han de servir per aprofundir en el coneixement dels par&agrave;metres atmosf&egrave;rics que s&oacute;n necessaris per a la predicci&oacute; del temps.<\/p>\n<p>La tecnologia introdu&iuml;da permet l&rsquo;observaci&oacute; de radio-ocultacions que, per primera vegada, ser&agrave; obtinguda en dues polaritzacions. En aquest cas s&rsquo;empraran els sat&egrave;l&middot;lits de la xarxa GPS i permetr&agrave; determinar les propietats termodin&agrave;miques de l&rsquo;atmosfera, com s&oacute;n la temperatura, la pressi&oacute; i la humitat a diferents altures dins l&rsquo;atmosfera.<\/p>\n<p>Segons les paraules de la doctora Estel Cardellach, de l&rsquo;Institut d&rsquo;Estudis Espacials de Catalunya (ICE-CSIC), &ldquo;la polarimetria permetr&agrave; provar nous conceptes de mesura que no s&rsquo;havien plantejat abans. En particular, la informaci&oacute; d&rsquo;ambdues polaritzacions s&rsquo;emprar&agrave; per a realitzar mesures de precipitacions intenses. Per primera vegada, es disposaria d&rsquo;un instrument amb la capacitat de mesurar simult&agrave;niament tan les propietats termodin&agrave;miques de l&rsquo;atmosfera, com la precipitaci&oacute; intensa&rdquo;.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;En el context del canvi clim&agrave;tic, en el qual es preveuen fen&ograve;mens extrems &ndash;com les precipitacions intenses&ndash; que s&oacute;n dif&iacute;cils de predir degut en gran part a la manca de dades, el nostre instrument pot contribuir a la seva resoluci&oacute;&rdquo;.<\/p>\n<p>La t&egrave;cnica de les r&agrave;dio-ocultacions<\/p>\n<p>Les ocultacions, i en particular les r&agrave;dio-ocultacions, &eacute;s una t&egrave;cnica emprada per a l&rsquo;observaci&oacute; d&rsquo;un medi, habitualment l&rsquo;atmosfera d&rsquo;un planeta. Calen dos elements, un emissor o font que trameti ones electromagn&egrave;tiques i un receptor que les pugui mesurar.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;A mesura que la l&iacute;nia de visi&oacute; entre ambd&oacute;s elements &eacute;s interceptada per l&rsquo;atmosfera planet&agrave;ria el senyal de l&rsquo;emissor s&rsquo;afebleix, es distorsiona i flexiona, de manera que el seu estudi pot donar-nos informaci&oacute; sobre el medi que travessa, en aquest cas, l&rsquo;atmosfera de la Terra&rdquo; assenyala Cardellach.<\/p>\n<p>Els emissors s&oacute;n, en aquest cas, els sat&egrave;l&middot;lits de posici&oacute; global GPS i el receptor &eacute;s l&rsquo;instrument situat en el sat&egrave;l&middot;lit de baixa al&ccedil;ada orbital PAZ.<\/p>\n<p>El projecte PAZ<\/p>\n<p>El sat&egrave;l&middot;lit PAZ, amb tecnologia radar, t&eacute; la tasca principal d&rsquo;atendre a les necessitats de seguretat i defensa.
