_module_preset=\u00bbdefault\u00bb global_colors_info=\u00bb{}\u00bb]Organized by the Institute of Cosmos Sciences (IEEC-UB), the second THOR workshop will take place in Barcelona (Spain) from September 27th to 29th, 2016 at the Physics Building, University of Barcelona.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The main goals of the workshop are:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To give an input to the ongoing phase<\/li>\n<li>A study of THOR in all aspects<\/li>\n<li>To give an overview of the payload capabilities to the science community<\/li>\n<li>To give a possibility for direct interaction among scientists and payload engineers<\/li>\n<li>To address the current state of the art in our understanding of plasma heating and particle acceleration in turbulent plasmas Theory Numerical simulations Spacecraft\/laboratory\/astrophysical observations Particular focus on pristine solar wind, foreshock, shocks, magnetosheath<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The THOR workshop will last three days. The first day will be devoted to the payload, and the next two days to science discussions.
