‘Catalonia Space Labs Tickets’: the new call for grants to boost the use of ecosystem infrastructures in the space sector
The Government of Catalonia and the Institute of Space Studies of Catalonia (IEEC) launch the call for grants ‘Catalonia Space Labs Tickets’, within the framework of the Catalonia Space 2030 Strategy and its flagship programme, the Space Factory.
This programme makes available to the ecosystem the infrastructures, laboratories and technical capabilities needed to develop, test and scale their solutions.
These grants aim to facilitate access for private Catalan entities and companies within the Catalan space ecosystem to space infrastructures at a reduced cost.
The grants cover 70% of the cost of using the infrastructure, with a maximum amount of €15,000 per applicant company.
Eligible costs include those related to contracting the use of infrastructures from entities with a registered office and/or tax domicile, permanent establishment or workplace in Catalonia, incurred prior to the submission of the grant application (from 1 January 2026 up to the date of application).
Infrastructures that are part of the Catalonia Space Labs are eligible. It also applies to other infrastructures (clean rooms, vacuum chambers, vibration benches, laboratories, etc.) located in Catalonia, provided that the owning companies register the infrastructure within Catalonia Space Labs. Without this registration, the grant cannot be awarded.
In the case of projects related to climate resilience, beneficiary companies may be included in the ESA Phi-Lab NET Spain portfolio, in line with the programme’s specialisation.
The new application submission period is open from today, 8 April, until next 8 June 2026 (at 14:00). The call provides for the opening of two additional application periods during this year, subject to the outcome of previous calls and the available budget. The partial resolution of each call is expected to be issued approximately one month after the application deadline.
Each company may submit more than one application in each submission period, provided that the maximum funding amount is not exceeded.
