Leaf Space
Leaf Space focuses its efforts on simplifying access to space by deploying and managing a highly automated global network of ground stations, facilitating satellite communications for operators worldwide.
Their team develops ground technology to offer Ground Station as a Service (GSaaS) solutions, integrating data processing capabilities and real-time operations. This technology enables efficient and scalable management of satellite missions, driving the growth of the aerospace ecosystem and promoting innovation in the NewSpace sector. Leaf Space’s solutions range from receiving Earth Observation mission data to supporting next-generation telecommunication constellations.
Infrastructure/equipment
Tri-band satellite communications ground station (S, X and Ka bands)
This telecommunications station installed at the Sant Esteve Teleport, located at the Montsec Observatory (OdM), is an infrastructure that enables communication with satellites in the S, X, and Ka bands. Situated at an altitude of 1,570 meters, this facility is designed to maximize satellite visibility with a 0-degree horizon mask across practically the entire horizon.
Its triple-band configuration allows the use of lower bands for transmitting telemetry and telecommand (TMTC) or low-volume data, and higher bands for downloading large volumes of information, making it an ideal solution for Earth observation missions. The facility is fully integrated into Leaf Space’s global network to deliver superior operational performance and value-added services to accelerate space activity.
