From 27 to 29 October 2026, Fira de Lleida will host the Agrobiotech Innovation Forum, a meeting point for the agrobiotech sector that brings together companies, producers, research and technology organisations, start-ups, investors and public administrations.
Under the theme ‘Optimising production without compromising the planet’, the forum will showcase innovative technologies and solutions across three main areas: agriculture, livestock and bioeconomy. These will include developments in fields such as precision agriculture, robotics and drones, smart irrigation and water management, livestock monitoring, applied biotechnology, circular economy and bioenergy.
More than 14,000 professional visitors and 250 exhibitors are expected to participate, alongside a programme of conferences, networking activities, a Startup Arena and technological innovation awards.
With a strong focus on applied innovation, technology transfer and collaboration, the forum aims to connect technological solutions with real needs across the agri-food sector, creating opportunities for companies, research organisations, start-ups and producers to establish new partnerships and bring innovative technologies closer to the market.
Innovation from space for agriculture
As part of the forum, and in the framework of the Catalonia Space 2030 Strategy promoted by the Government of Catalonia, the Institute of Space Studies of Catalonia (IEEC) will organise a session focused on the potential of space technologies to address challenges in the agricultural sector, bringing together research, technology providers and end users.
The session will showcase a range of projects and initiatives applying space technologies to agriculture, including internal IEEC projects, applied case studies and initiatives from research and public-sector organisations. The session also includes projects developed within the ESA Phi-Lab Spain, a programme coordinated by the IEEC as the leader of a consortium of 12 universities, research and innovation centres, and companies.
The agenda for the session will be as follows:
