IEEC is now a Member of the European Astronomical Society
The Institute of Space Studies of Catalonia (IEEC  — Institut d’Estudis Espacials de Catalunya) has just joined the European Astronomical Society (EAS) as Organisational Member.

The EAS promotes and advances astronomy in Europe. As an independent body, the EAS is able to act on matters that need to be handled at a European level on behalf of the European astronomical community. In its endeavours the EAS collaborates with affiliated national astronomical societies and also with pan-european research organisations and networks.

Founded in 1990, the EAS is a society of individual members. All astronomers may join the society, irrespective of their field of research, or their country of work or origin. In addition, corporations, publishers and non-profit organisations can become organisational members of the EAS.

As an institution, IEEC will receive several benefits, such as discounts for exhibition space at the yearly EAS annual meeting and job advertisements in the community. Individual members can register separately at this link. Individual membership comes with benefits such as a discount for the Astronomy and Astrophysics Reviews and the possibility to apply for participation grants dedicated to young astronomers.
