LISA Pathfinder, in orbit
Six weeks after launch, LISA Pathfinder has reached orbit around the L1 Lagrange point, 1.5 million kilometers from Earth toward the Sun, from where the technology that will allow to detect gravitational waves in space will be tested.

To get it, the propulsion module separated from the science section on January 22nd, one of the critical moments of the mission that has developed without a hitch. The heaters and the temperature sensors, two of the subsystems created and controlled by the group LISA-Gravitational Astronomy of the Institute of Space Sciences (IEEC-CSIC), have also been launched.

The next highlight of the mission is currently scheduled for mid-February, when LISA Pathfinder will release two test masses, one of the key moments of the mission. Scientific tests will begin on March 1st.
