New cohort announced for the Catalonia Space Accelerator
The Catalonia Space Accelerator has launched its second edition. Supported by the Government of Catalonia and coordinated by the Institute of Space Studies of Catalonia (IEEC), the initiative is framed within the Catalonia Space 2030 Strategy.
This project, developed by the company Starburst, is designed to strengthen the Catalan space ecosystem by helping four carefully selected startup companies to accelerate their growth, expand internationally, and connect with investors, corporations, and leading experts from the global space sector.
Among others, the Catalonia Space Accelerator includes individualised mentoring for each company, conducted by specialised experts who will provide strategic support; market analysis, company positioning, and business model development; business development support (identifying appropriate companies and users, and making introductions to them); and tailored assistance in identifying relevant investors and preparing the corresponding pitches and communication initiatives, among others.
To be eligible for the selection process, startups or emerging companies must meet the following minimum requirements:
- The company’s activity must be related to technology and/or services in the space sector.
- At the time of applying to the call, they must have a working centre within the territory of Catalonia.
- They must be able to demonstrate that they already have a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) developed upon entering the programme.
- Each company must specifically identify the objectives that justify why they want to access the acceleration programme.
- They must authorise the IEEC and the Government of Catalonia to disseminate information about their participation and the relevant results achieved.
- They must not have participated in the first edition of the acceleration programme (published in March 2024).
The first edition of the programme helped consolidate companies that currently occupy a prominent place within the Catalan space sector, such as Aistech Space, Albora Technologies, Kreios Space or Pangea Propulsion.
Startups or emerging companies wishing to participate in the programme can submit their application until 24 July. From all the applications received, four companies will be selected.
