Presentation of the first use case of Enxaneta at Mobile World Congress 2022
The first real environment use case of the Enxaneta nanosatellite was presented today at the Mobile World Congress, which is currently being held in Barcelona (28 February – 3 March). Enxaneta was launched into orbit in March 2021 as part of the Catalan Government's NewSpace Strategy for Catalonia.

The event 'L'Enxaneta: Un any en órbita', which was held at 11 am in the Catalonia Pavilion, Hall 4 (4C1) of the Gran Via exhibition centre at the Fira de Barcelona, took stock of the nanosatellite's first year in space and presented its first case of use in a real environment, which consisted of measuring physical and environmental parameters of the soil in vineyards via an Internet of Things (IoT) connection with the nanosatellite.

The encounter was attended by the director general of Innovation and Digital Economy of the Catalan Government, Daniel Marco, the deputy director general of Geodesy and Cartography of the Institut Cartogràfic i Geològic de Catalunya (ICGC), Julià Talaya, the director of the Institute for Space Studies of Catalonia (Institut d’Estudis Espacials de Catalunya — IEEC), Ignasi Ribas, the director of innovation of Space Communications of the i2CAT Foundation, Pol Guixé, the CEO and co-founder of Sateliot, Jaume Sanpera, and the coordinator of the NewSpace Strategy for Catalonia, Verònica Tercero.

The event, which was especially aimed at all members of the NewSpace Community, was organised by the Digital Catalonia Alliance.
