Infrastructure/equipment

6GStarLab

6GStarLab is an open laboratory in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) for experimenting with advanced 5G and 6G. It is a small 6-unit (6U) satellite equipped with payload virtualisation technology that enables the use of different radiofrequency bands:

UHF

LoRA

S-Band

X-Band

Ka-Band

6GStarLab also features a C-band optical payload (beacon and beaconless). The satellite is part of the European Space Agency’s (ESA) 6G Open Labs initiative.

Móra la Nova ground station

The ground station located in Móra la Nova includes a radiofrequency (RF) station with a reception chain across multiple bands (UHF, LoRa, S, X and Ka) as well as an optical ground station. The facilities are also equipped with various user terminals for broadband and narrowband communications (SWARM, Iridium, Sateliot, Hispasat, Starlink, OneWeb, Inmarsat, Viasat).
