The Department of Research and Universities of the Generalitat de Catalunya has just published the new video of the RECERCLIPS initiative, which focuses on Joan Oró and the mysteries of the universe and features a significant participation of the Institute of Space Studies of Catalonia (IEEC).

The RECERCLIPS initiative aims to raise awareness of the research being carried out at universities, research centres, science parks and large facilities in Catalonia among young people through a collection of short videos.

This fourth issue of the RECERCLIPS collection was recorded at the former headquarters of the IEEC, located at UPC’s Campus Nord (Barcelona), and the facilities of the Montsec Observatory – OdM (Sant Esteve de la Sarga, Pallars Jussà) and featured the IEEC researchers at the Institute of Cosmos Sciences of the University of Barcelona (ICCUB) Carme Jordi, Nadia Blagorodnova and Josep Manel Carrasco; the IEEC researcher at the Institute of Space Sciences (ICE-CSIC) Lluís Galbany and the director of the OdM, Kike Herrero.

We encourage you to enjoy the video below, which addresses such interesting topics as supernovae, exoplanets, the characteristics of the galaxies or the star merger. Topics that are being investigated with the contribution of the Joan Oró Telescope, the largest telescope in Catalonia.
