Presentation of the Digital Catalonia Alliance
The presentation of the Digital Catalonia Alliance, a new initiative of the Ministry of the Vice-presidency, Digital Policies and Territory of the Catalan Government that seeks to boost and revitalize the emerging technological ecosystem, will be held on 29 November in Barcelona.

The conference will present and delve into the five technological communities that will form the alliance: IoT, Drones, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence and NewSpace.

The Institute of Space Studies of Catalonia (IEEC — Institut d’Estudis Espacials de Catalunya) promotes the Catalan NewSpace strategy approved in October 2020. The entry of NewSpace, which represents a disruptive leap in the use of space from the deployment of nanosatellites, will have a great impact on the services that users receive from space and, in particular, can contribute to a better management of terrestrial resources, to measure the effects of climate change and to have Internet of Things (IdC) connectivity in a homogeneous way and in areas remote of the territory.

The event will be presented by Jordi Puigneró, vice president and minister of the Digital Policies and Territory, and will feature the participation of Esteve Almirall, AI & Data Science, Innovation and Smart Cities Professor at Esade; Dani Marco, Director General of Innovation and Digital Economy of the Generalitat de Catalunya, and Jara Forcadell, project manager of the i2Cat Foundation.

The event, which will take place in the Auditorium of the Administrative District of the Generalitat de Catalunya, can be followed live on the Digital Policies Youtube channel (registrations for in-person attendance are closed).
