This prestigious award is given biennially to European academics for their significant and outstanding contributions in the field of gravitational physics. Prof. Odintsov recognition is the first awarded to a scientist of our country since 2004 Prof. Roger Penrose, recognised astrophysicist at the University of Oxford, received the first Amaldi Medal. The researcher has received the recognition for his work on the relationship between inflation of the universe, dark energy and modified gravity. The medal will be awarded during the SIGRAV congress, which will take place from 15 to 19 September in Alessandria (Italy).
The launch is scheduled for next December 19th, 2013 at 10.12 am (CET)
