The Montsec Astronomical Observatory opens its doors to the public on the occasion of World Space Week
Located in one of the most suitable areas on the European continent for astronomical observation, the Montsec Astronomical Observatory (OAdM – Observatori Astronòmic del Montsec) is a cutting-edge scientific infrastructure managed by IEEC and used by scientists. On the occasion of World Space Week organised around the world, OAdM opens its doors once more to the general public.

The Open Doors will take place on Sunday, 6 October 2019, at 12:00 h, and it will last about an hour.  During the visit to OAdM, the astronomers will explain how the scientific instruments work and what kind of research is done at the infrastructures.

As places are limited, prior registration is required by filling out this form.

The Open Doors event is also registered on the World Space Week website.

World Space Week is an international celebration of science and technology and their contribution to the betterment of the human condition. It consists of space education and outreach events held by space agencies, aerospace companies, schools, planetaria, museums and astronomy clubs around the world in a common timeframe. The United Nations General Assembly declared in 1999 that World Space Week will be held each year on 4-10 October.
