Daniele Viganò has been awarded with the SEA prize to the best doctoral thesis in astrophysics in 2013
We are pleased to announce that Daniele Viganò, postdoc at ICE (IEEC/CSIC), has won the Spanish Society for Astrophysics (SEA) prize for the best doctoral thesis in astrophysics in 2013, which is entitled “Magnetic Fields in Neutron Stars” and was performed at the University of Alicante. Some work has been done in collaboration with Nanda Rea, investigator from ICE.

According to the Board of the SEA, the theses vying for the prize had a very high level, but the excellence of the work of Daniele deserved the recognition. The award ceremony will take place on September 8 at the opening session of the XI Scientific Meeting of the SEA, in Teruel.

Daniele joined IEEC in September 2013. His research is based in the study of theoretical models of how pulsars emit gamma radiation and in the analysis of X-ray data of magnetized neutron stars.

The IEEC wants to congratulate the researcher for his excellent work. Congratulations, Daniele! [NOT TRANSLATED]
