On 2013 several municipalities around the Montsec were declared by UNESCO as Tourist Destination Starlight Reserve for the quality of its dark sky. Only from places like OAdM, where the telescope Oró is located, you can see naked eye all the details of our galaxy, the Milky Way.

The Milky Way is the spiral galaxy and Sun forms part of it; it consists of about 200,000 million stars, plus nebulae and star clusters. From the northern hemisphere, the nights of July and August are ideal to try to locate this luminous band across the sky from north to south.

The image is a panorama made from 8 pictures of 40-second exposure, taken with a SLR camera and a wide angle lens [NOT TRANSLATED]
